Actually, I have several reasons why I chose to design this site in this manner. Frankly, I've gotten tired of neutral colors. I wanted to use something more striking, something that people don't usually see on well designed web sites.

I also liked the simplicity of large fields of color in combination with the crisp contrast of a black and white photo. The photo used is one of my favorites from my own work.
