INTRODUCTION

Barbara discussing with a student
At this point, most of these photographs were taken for a black and white photography class at UCDavis. It was a whirlwind class, lasting only 6 weeks and including introduction to the camera as well as the expectation of eventual mastery of the camera.

Barbara Molloy taught the class. She's a dynamic lecturer, and the class as a whole was actually fun. This gets particularly impressive considering it was twice a week for 6 hour long sessions.

The swing photos are merely a side interest. They were shot with 3200p Kodak B&W film, at 6400 speed. I was trying to shoot without a flash, and thus the lighting was restricted to the rather frustrating spot lights.

Other shots were taken primarily with 400 or 3200 speed film.
