THE GAME: Links and Description
Tekken 2 bridges the gap between 2D and 3D fighting games. Originally an arcade game, it was flawlessly translated to the PlayStation in 1997. With 60 frames per second, 3D characters, and fairly intuitive game controls, it was one of the better fighting games on the market at the time. It is currently being succeeded by Tekken 3, released on the American systems on April 30th.

Some games of comparable distinction, but falling in slightly different genres of fighting games, include Soul Blade, Battle Arena Toshinden 3, and Mortal Kombat 3.
