Button trading, or "Buttoneering," has been a part of the PAX Community for many years, though interest is waning. It inspired such frenzy of buttoning that those on the Expo hall floor started increasing their button swag, and soon Penny Arcade began their own pin-based button trading, Pinny Arcade. Once the PAX Community Crest was created, it was only natural to have a button based on it. Every year, a quick color change is applied.
